who you ask.  We're amazed with everything
he does, of course!

22 days old

Jeremy had his first attempt at a bath today - 
has only been sponge baths up to now.  
It didn't quite work and we reverted to 
sponge bath, but it was lots of fun anyway.  
We think that he is growing in length - he is 
almost as long as his Moses basket already! 

Jeremy 3 weeks old

Although our living room is dark, you can still see how precious he is.  Jeremy has just started making the noises he is making on the video, and is doing lots of social smiling (although it is hard to see here).  Yesterday, he went to his third concert (Ani DiFranco, Melissa Ferrick, and Nina Storey) at Chatfield Music Festival.  We sat far enough away, with lots of other two mom families, to protect young ears.  He slept most of the time, and so is very awake today- he has now been awake 4 hours straight (a very long time for a newborn).

Jeremy, 2 1/2 weeks old

These photos were taken on July 20th- 17 days old.  His umbilical cord stump has almost 
fallen off, and his circumcision has completely healed.  We are completely in 
love with him.  He's sleeping and eating well (e.g., he sleeps for 3 & 4 hour stretches
at night and usually falls right back to sleep after a feeding).  It is so wonderful to get to stay at home together as a family, 
getting used to the new rhythm of our life.

Jeremy's Bris

We had a beautiful ceremony for the event of Jeremy's Bris Milah (circumcision ceremony).  It was very meaningful and spiritual- our boy entering into the covenant with G-d.  We talked about the meaning and origin of his names, and the mohel said several prayers.  He was also given god-parents (friends, Diane and Charles).

Everyone doing fine

It is now almost two weeks since we brought JB home, and things are going very well.  We took him to his first concert (Neville Brothers, at the Botanic Gardens) last night.  He is eating and sleeping very well.  He was sleeping too well, in fact, and worried his Mama Anna who needed to talk to the doctor about him barely waking all afternoon to eat.  Apparently, this is normal.

This is our first family portrait after they cleaned Jeremy up, the afternoon of his birth.  He was born July 3rd, 1:21 in the afternoon.  He was 6 lbs, 7 oz and 20.5 inches long.
