First trip to the mountains

Jeremy had his first trip to the mountains, in honor of his mothers' second wedding anniversary.  We stayed in a B&B in Winter Park that had a huge 'Koko the gorilla' stuffie in our room.  We went on two hikes, got caught in the rain, and enjoyed the mountain air.  The movie link is of Jeremy talking with his Mommy and then talking in the car about his trip.

Baby reunion

Our prenatal class, "Jewish Baby University" had its first reunion today- all seven couples made it to the BBQ at Robin and Brian (and Brayden)'s house.  These are photos (from top to bottom) of the moms and babies, 4 of the 7 babies (Emma, Norah, JB, and Gabby), and JB with his friend, Norah.

Jeremy 7 weeks

Mr. Jeremy Simon is now starting to grab things (like Mama's shirt when he nurses- very cute!), and is making more and varied sounds.  He also can hold his body's weight with his legs (i.e. stand with help balancing).  As you can see, most of his fetal hair is gone, but he has a nice, new crop of light brown baby hair.
This week has brought more visitors, including Chris' husband Andrew, Fran's Cornell friend, Andy Chen (from FL), and his great Uncle Gene and Great Aunt Susan, from NY.  In these photos, he is wearing one of the shirts that our friend
in Holland, Wilma, sent him.  Thanks, Wilma!

Flashback to week one

The following movie is from Jeremy's first week, when his grandparents were in town for his bris.  It is amazing to me to see how much he has changed- in size and in muscular control.

Cutest on the planet

Well, at least that's what his grandparents (and parents) have to say about it. Here is further proof:

Fran had her first day back to working full-time; so far, so good, although Anna and JB miss her terribly.  JB is enjoying life as usual and growing at a tremendous clip;
he has begun to grow out of his first round of baby clothes (there's plenty more,
though- that's not why he's naked in these photos- it has been very hot these summer days, and he tends to get heat rash if we over-dress him).

Visiting twins

Anna's next-door-neighbor/childhood friend, Roni and her husband, Jim, are recently back from the hospital with their new twin boys, Ethan and Evan.  For once, JB is the "big boy"!  We are excited for the boys to be friends, just as their mothers were, way back when in Cincinnati (amazing that we both ended up in CO, pregnant at the same time)...

Jeremy relating

Below is a link to a movie of Jeremy relating to various folks during our California visit. The first three clips were taken at the same time, in Diane and Charles' house just after Fran changed his diaper (his best relating time seems to correspond to this activity).

Also, we should report that Jeremy, now 6 weeks, weighs in at 10.25 lbs!

Was a great trip!

We are now safely back home in Denver after our 10 day trip to California.  Jeremy was an angel on the plane again- not a peep! We boarded first and sat in the front row; he enjoyed scrutinizing each traveller as they passed, to the amusement and amazement of many. We had a great time but it is good to be home.  Jeremy had a wonderful first night back, sleeping in two 4-hour cycles (thanks to the humidifier!).  However, his naps were a bit more challenging; it seems that he became too used to taking them on his 'Papa's shoulder!

Last day in San Jose

Well, it's been a very sucessful conference, with plenty of socializing.  Yesterday afternoon Jeremy met Max, 16 mo. old son of our friends Marta and Angie.  Today we'll return to Oakland with more socializing to come, including time with God-Parents Diane and Charles.

JB movie- 5 weeks

Jeremy met his cousin Jessica and his honorary auntie Grace (for FOF -friends of fran- that's "Grace #1") today.  He also met lots of Anna's colleagues at the conference.  Thank goodness he, like his mothers, is a social creature!

Baby's first trip

We are now in California for my (Anna's) conference and to visit friends and family.  Jeremy was an absolute angel on the plane- no problems at all, and has enjoyed his time with 'Papa' Monty (my father) and Grannie Glo in Oakland.  He also met Fran's "Wells Fargo Family" who held a nice party for him in Alameda (Auntie Lyna's house).  Honorary grandma Ann, plus Uncles Bob, Nelson, & Mike were there, the latter with
their 2 year old son, Baan.  He is more "relational" by the day, and "talking" lots.  As I write this, we are in San Jose (the venue for the conference) in a hotel room that has been
transformed into an office-nursery, decked out with two computers,  changing station, bottles and breast-pump, adult clothing, plus flowers and cards for my birthday (turned 38 on Monday). We celebrated last night with friends Shachar and Emily (who are expecting in October).  They
took the wonderful photo above.  He also met his Auntie Gwen, who clearly loves him.

Dancing Boy

This is a photo and movie of JB at his fourth music concert.
He is now one month old and an old hand at outdoor concerts.
This time was folk music- Patti Griffin.  He is dancing with his
honorary Auntie, Rita.  He has many honorary aunties and uncles who love him! On Friday we fly to California to see Papa Monty (my father)
and Grannie Glo, as well as our huge community of friends there.
